So you’ve got a business, and you want to start selling your products on Amazon? You might be querying if it’s worth the effort. Here are some reasons why it is:
- The demand for physical goods is still high, but many consumers purchase online instead of in stores.
- Amazon has an active customer base with more than 100 million Prime members.
- Selling on Amazon gives your company access to those customers and other shoppers who turn to Amazon as their primary shopping destination.
If you want to sell products that you already have, then this is the option for you. Products you want to sell on Amazon don’t necessarily need to be in good condition; as long as they’re functional and can be shipped, buyers on Amazon will purchase them.
For selling products on Amazon that you already have, you will need to find a product’s ASIN number. An ASIN number is made up of ten digits and can be found by searching for the product on Amazon. For example, this article contains an ASIN number: B01MUA6LY8. Once you find your product’s ASIN number, follow these steps.
STEP 1: VISIT AMAZON BUY BOX ASSOCIATION
Amazon’s Buy Box is the holy grail for any eCommerce business. If you’re not in control of that, your competitors will be! Amazon has over five billion products to choose from with human reviews and ratings by users like yourself who have already bought them – how could anyone go wrong?
Anyway, on the left-hand side of the screen, you will see a list of options. Find “Sell on Amazon” and click it to go to your seller account page. Once there, look for an option that says “Sell Your Stuff” and click it.
STEP 2: UPLOAD ITEMS TO LIST ON AMAZON
You will be asked to add the ASIN number(s) of your product(s) on this page. Remember that an ASIN number is ten digits long, so enter only the first ten boxes. Then, choose the box that mentions “I Have a Product to Sell.”
STEP 3: VERIFY YOUR PRODUCT’S INFORMATION
After you have added your product’s ASIN number, Amazon will automatically verify your product information. This step can take up to 24 hours, so be patient. If your product is in one of the categories shown on the left-hand side of the screen, it will appear in a list. If your product needs to be reviewed by Amazon for any reason, you will be asked to send a photo of your product along with its ASIN number. This can also take up to 24 hours, so be patient and don’t worry if your product isn’t an ecommerce product listing immediately after you add it to the system.
STEP 4: SET YOUR PRICE AND SELL YOUR ITEMS
Once Amazon has verified your product’s information, you can set your price and sell it on Amazon. To do this, find your product on the list shown on the left-hand side of the screen. From there, click the button that says “Sell Yours.” On this page, you will have three options:
- Sell on Amazon – If you want to set your price and sell your product immediately, click this option.
- Auction-Style Selling – If you’re willing to let buyers determine the price of your product, click this option.
- Fixed Price – If you want to sell your product at a fixed price, click this option.
STEP 5: SELL YOUR ITEMS ON AMAZON AND GET PAID
Once your item has been sold, Amazon will automatically deposit the money from that sale into your bank account every two weeks as long as the minimum amount is met. If your product sells for more than $10, Amazon will deposit your money after it has been sold, but they will hold onto it until you withdraw it from your account or sell another item with at least $10 in sales.
